Are We Haughty or Humble????

James 4: 13-16, Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12: This is why when we make plans it is important to include the Lord. Plans of men go astray.  We often think that we are doing this all by ourselves. We earned this money. When in all actuality, we can only do what God leads us to do.  We need to remember it is God who gives us the strength. We do whatever we do through the Lord. As we learn to lean on Him, to trust Him to provide our strength, we find life is easier. My biggest trip fall is being haughty. I tend to think more of myself than I should.   It tends to happen easily when things come easily. I have to guard my thoughts against this thinking. I have to watch in order to not fall.  Even this week, after I had come so far, I tripped; telling a dear group of friends essentially that I am smarter.  When in all actuality, I am not smarter. I do not process a greater ability to understand than anyone else does. We all have our strong points, mine is gathering knowledge from books. The truth is I am very poor at the application end. I might be able to quote facts, however, when it comes to application; I need guidance.  That is where the Lord pushes me- the application part. He gives each of us a special something, and then we have to lean on the Lord to apply it. To use our talents in the best way, we lean on Jesus and depend on understanding through the Holy Spirit. So if you are good on application, but poor at the gathering of knowledge part, you align yourself with a knowledge gather.  Then together you become a better tool for the Lord’s work than one alone. (Ecclesiastes)

James:

13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that”. 16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

Ecclesiastes:

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. 11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
