Harmony, Leadership, and Strength.

Romans 12:4-5:  This explains why we need community. We are designed by God to help each other to work in harmony.  We say the body of Christ, then we go our separate ways. When we need to be in contact with each other raising each other up in prayer. We need to be there to lend a hand when one of the body needs help.  To do that we have to be vulnerable within the body of Christ. Unless you attend a small church, one where everyone knows everyone else; then a church should have small groups because this is where we can connect to other Christians. This is not an overnight process, we have to get to know each other and create bonds and relationships. Through these relationships we become close and are more likely to pray for each other with specific prayers.  We are there to help each other. But until your group is willing to let their hair down the bond is not Jesus strong.  As a leader, I find that if I am willing to be vulnerable, then the members of my small group are willing to trust me to share their stories with me. As we share our stories we become Jesus Strong.

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
